Graphology is a pseudoscience that aims to describe the personality of an individual and determine general characteristics of the character, about their mental (and even physiological) balance, the nature of their emotions, their type of intelligence and professional skills by examining the handwritten writing. In addition, according to some graphologists, it would serve to diagnose the degree of physical and mental health or disease.
Although its advocates rely on anecdotal evidence, most empirical studies have not been able to confirm the validity of their claims. Therefore, it is generally considered a pseudoscience.
Graphology should not be confused with forensic calligraphy, calligraphic expertise or graphoscopy, a discipline used in criminology for the purpose of comparing writings and determining, for example, if a document was signed by the person who is supposed to have done it, also useful in holographic wills or suicide notes. Among the techniques it uses are the analysis of ink, paper or type of typewriter. Forensic calligraphy is judicially accepted, for expert identification purposes of individuals.
Graphology is the study of a person's handwriting: because from what you write it is possible to infer certain personality traits. But not all letters are the same, and analysts suggest paying special attention to four of them: "i", "t", "o" and "s".
Starting from some characteristics of how you write, a graphological test will be done; eg: Are your points on the i's an open circle? According to the experts at the National Pen Company, you could have the personality of a visionary, and that of a child, too.
On the other hand, if the "t's" are short crosses, they can indicate laziness or lack of determination, while the very closed "o's" can indicate an introverted personality, and open o's, a personality that does not follow your instincts.
Although the principles of graphology may seem obvious - and the discipline is often dismissed as "pseudoscience" - some people believe that the study of handwriting may even offer a glimpse into a person's health. For example: a letter with variable pressure can indicate high blood pressure, while erratically included letters could be a symptom of schizophrenia.

The way you write can reveal more than 10,000 personality traits. What are the most common characteristics of the letters and their meanings?
Letter size:
Big. You are sociable, you like to surround yourself with people, and you love attention. It can also mean that you appear to be brave and have a lot of confidence.
Median. You adapt easily to circumstances.
Little. You are shy and introverted, studious, focused, and meticulous.
Space between letters
Large. You appreciate your freedom and you don't like feeling overwhelmed or surrounded by too many people.
Narrow. You hate being alone. You tend to surround yourself with people and can be intrusive at times.
Letter slant
No inclination. You don't let your emotions dominate you. You are usually logical and practical.
Tilt to the right. You are open to new experiences and you enjoy meeting people.
Tilt to the left. You tend to be a bit closed with people, preferring to work behind the scenes. If you are right-handed and your handwriting leans to the left, it could mean that you are rebellious.
Shape of the letters
Round letters. You are creative and artistic.
Pointy letters. You are more aggressive, intense, very intelligent and curious.
Letters connected to each other. You are guided by logic, you are systematic and you make decisions very carefully.
Letter curves
Narrow curve of the "L". You could be restricting yourself, which could lead to feelings of tension.
Wide curve of the "L". You are relaxed and spontaneous, it is easy for you to express your emotions.
Narrow curve of the "e". You are usually skeptical, you do not usually get carried away by the emotions of others.
Wide "e" curve. You are open-minded and enjoy living new experiences.
The dots on the i's
High point. You have a great imagination.
Point to the left. You tend to procrastinate.
Stripes on the "i". You can be too hard on yourself. You have little patience for people who are unsuitable or who do not learn from their mistakes.
Open circles. You are visionary, but you have a slightly childish personality.
Point just above the "I". You are detail-oriented, organized, and empathetic in everything you say and do.
The cross of the "T"
Very high. You are ambitious, optimistic, and have high self-esteem.
Right in the middle. You are confident, you feel good about yourself.
Long cross. You are determined and enthusiastic. However, you tend to be stubborn and have a hard time letting go.
Short cross. You tend to be lazy and show lack of determination.
Open and closed "O’s"
Open. You are communicative, sociable and it is not difficult for you to express your feelings; it is hard for you to keep secrets.
Closed. You are jealous of your privacy, you share little about your personal life. You are an introvert.
Pressure
Strong. If you put a lot of pressure on the pen when writing, you could be compromised and take things very seriously. If you apply too much pressure, you could live in constant tension and react quickly to criticism.
Light If the pressure is light, you could be sensitive and empathetic towards people, but you could also be a bit listless.
Velocity
Fast You are impatient, you hate delays and wasted time. You are usually very efficient.
Slow. You are more organized, methodical, and self-reliant.
Firm
Unreadable. You are jealous of your privacy, difficult to read or understand.
Readable. You are self-confident and comfortable with who you are. You don't need to pretend to be someone you're not.
