I'm interested in any resources that can support the following 3 tasks:
1) cross-lingual information seeking (e.g., query formulation support, searching, browsing, retrieving, or evaluating search results in either work or leisure contexts);
2) bilingual cataloguing (e.g, entering electronic catalogue data, performing subject analysis, classification or indexing);
3) translation support for either of the above.
Specifically, I'm looking for concrete examples of bilingual thesauri; bilingual corpora; alligned or parallel corpora; machine-readable dictionaries; databanks, taxomonies, ontologies or other authoritative lists of terminology; and perhaps, translation aids or links to useful site that contain any of the above.
If you've ever used or seen such resources and could comment on how authoritative, useful, and/or helpful you found them to be, could you please post your suggestions, pointers to research, and/or links. Much obliged! VR

I'm currently working in the CISMeF team (Rouen University Hospital, LITIS EA4108, France) ; this team owns a catalogue of French resources in Health on the Internet since 1995 (more than 100,000 resources). This catalogue is indexed manually and automatically thanks to the MeSH thesaurus (same as Medline, I'm sure you know it) but also with other terminologies or ontologies (ATC, NCIT, FMA, etc.). We are also involved into research projects and areas such as knowledge engineering, logic description or information retrieval. You can access to the HeTOP (Health Terminology/Ontology Portal - http://www.hetop.eu/?lang=en) which contains more than 40 terminologies/ontologies about Health in several languages. This portal is daily used by over 600 users for translation, indexing or teaching medicine.

Great resource, thank you, Julien Grosjean! Very useful tools for term alignment and translation in the medical domain. The functionality buttons don't seem to be supported with Unicode (e.g., Français on http://cispro.chu-rouen.fr/MT_EHTOP/) but several languages seem to be displaying correctly (e.g., СПИД and エイズ for AIDS).
