I would like to calculate CO2-emissions due to the production (and subsequent use) of carbon fibre material. I am sure there are different types of this material with likely different values, but possibly some average is possible.

I am looking for values which are mass specific, e.g. kWh/ kg of carbon fibre. Subsequently I would multiply that with the CO2 emissions per energy within a specific region to determine how much impact the selection of the region has for using a certain material.

This is likely not very precise, because processes might differ from region to region, but it is only intended as an estimate to test a certain process (i.e. considering THG emissions in design within concurrent engineering studies).

I was looking at different places and found some data on linkedin, from which I calculated such a value at ca. 38 kWh/ g carbon fibre, but this is so many orders of magnitudes larger than for other materials (steel, aluminum) that I am doubting that value, even though I cannot find an error.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!
