I am working at the City scale and 0.5x0.5 minutes spatial resolution climate data from CRU seem very coarse. I was wondering if I could get a better resolution. I wouldn't also mind getting the original data so that I can construct the grid myself if possible. I am interrogating these climate variable (precipitation, tmax, etc) with some Landsat derived data (Land Cover, NDVI) which are at 30m resolution.
Any ideas??

Not sure if this will help for ground weather/climate but, Oklahoma has 2 micronets that include ground sensors with air temperature, rainfall, solar radiation, soil water content, and soil temperature. Here is the link to the ARS micronets: http://ars.mesonet.org/

Thank you all, Reuben, Sheikh and Lee. It appears local climate station may be the choice, although not sure it's available or down-scaling the global scale data.
