Where can I buy live Mantispid Flies? (Mantispidae)
I am unable to find any in my area in California.
I am especially interested in the wasp mimics. Does anyone have any where they live that they could sell or trade? Preferably in the U.S.?

how many examples do you need? Maybe I can catch several individuals, but now it is hard because it is winter. How long you can wait for the species?

If you are after live specimens you will need to do get the proper permits. California has some extensive regulations governing the movement of live material even within the state.
A long time ago I found a great colony of manispids in Oklahoma. They would congregate along a dirt road where vehicle traffic would kill grasshoppers. The mantispids would gather around the dead grasshoppers.

Are you starting colonies, or is this a molecular biology project and you need to kill/preserve them in a specific way?
I noted that Hook, Allan W; Oswald, John D.; and Neff, John L. from Texas published an article on mantispids in 2010, though the insects they used were from Trinidad. Sending one of them a note might be a good place to start.
Timothy: I am planning on starting colonies. Zlatko: I know that many species are found in the U.S., so I was hoping to find someone who has them or can collect them from in the U.S., that way shipping will be less of a hassle.
