Diffusion models have been developed and applied to different areas of image processing: image denoising, image segmentation, image inpainting, Interpolation. Well known nonlinear diffusion methods are Perona- Malik’s diffusion, Rudin-Osher- Fatemi’s total variation , Mumford- Shah’s functional, Weickert’s tensor diffusion, total variation analyses, Chan - Vese’s active contours.
