When calculating wave statistics such as significant wave height Hs=4sqrt(m0) from wave spectra, moments such as the zeroth (m0) and first (m1) moments are used. These have physical meaning, e.g. I believe the first moment is the mean, the second is the variance, etc. However, some wave properties require the calculation of negative moments -1 and -2. What is their physical meaning?
