nominal feedback sytem for stability robustness
When we say compensator/controller in unity feedback system,how do we give the value if its not given in the question,Like say nominal loop transfer function Ln(s)=Gn(s)kn(s)
Controller can be placed either in the feedback or forward path depending on the applications. Unity feedback indicates the measured signal is fed back to the error detector without any modifications. Book: Robust Control Systems Theory and Case Studies by: Mackenroth, may help you

compensator in this should be placed in forward path with the plant/system instead of feedback path.
If your system is given with unity feedback, it probably implies that it is a tracking system, where the output is supposed to track and reproduce the input.
You give it some input command which is the desired plant output and you want the actual plant output to track it. Therefore, you do not change the unity feedback and any gains, controllers, etc, are part of the forward path (as said in Debasish Mondal's response).
Could you please clarify ... what is "the value" you are referring to?
