specific energy is related to the area of the drill bit when drilling, thus it will decrease when the diameter increase. It is important to not that for hard materials the drilling depth should not exceed the diameter of the drill bit, otherwise you should pause. so if you are using computer aided manufacturing you can write your G code to pause depending on the materials.
