Each time I am using a social networking site or some community forum, I am wondering about the best time to post a question or write a message. Based on your experiences with ResearchGate, did you notice any difference (in number, quality or frequency of responses) when posing questions on a weekend/Monday morning, compared to postings during workdays? Does this depend on the topic? Does it matter at all?
I guess this question has been answered in an ideal way: it became one of the few questions without a single reply (except this one)... and it was post on a Sunday afternoon - in Europe.
I bet it depends on the topic. If I am interested in answering a question, then the time or weekday do not matter at all.
I am not so sure. It is interesting to see how some questions do not take of at all, others get many answers in the first two days and then stop, others continue for a week others remain silent for sometimes weeks and then take of... so far, I could not spot any relation to the initial topic. To a certain degree it seems to remain pure fortune, i.e. when do people check for updates and how much traffic is currently displayed on one's account.
