When is the acoustic-shell interaction model more appropriate than the acoustic-solid interaction model?

Acoustic-shell approximation.

I think solid is more public usual than shell.so every shell is solid not vise versa.but about fsi that I work granular chain with fluid.I thing shell is not propariate.

By the way if you like expand the question,please talk about any literature that you see acoustic shell interaction
