Provide details or a starting point so others can contribute to the discussion.

It is really a nice suggestion to determine when the discussion ends. There is no repetition of the wording without a new solution.

The discussion should have been over long back but still continuing.....[ Asked 5 years ago ]
Seems to depend on the nature of the question asked...
The discussion should be over when the purpose of the question gets fulfilled.
No one but we should be able to make out that. For example if someone requests for a publication and a RG member provides it there is no use of providing it again and again.
This is a simple case but might not be so for all, as stated in my first posting.

On RG questions endlessly repeat themselves like birthdays and/or indigestion.
