I performed a linear analysis of a SDOF space frame using El Centro ground motion record in SAP2000 and I got the same results using MATLAB. However when I change it to two storeys, the results provided by SAP2000 are multiplied by a factor of 10 as compared to that done using MATLAB. I think the mistake lies in the SAP file and not MATLAB because compared to the single storey structure, the two storey structure is giving higher values of response quantities in SAP2000 for the same earthquake ground motion. Earthquake ground motion was given as acceleration in terms of g. In load cases, scale factor of 9.81 was used. The frame is a simple single bay 4mx4m concrete structure with slab thickness 0.1m and beams and columns of size 0.3mx0.3m. The mass I calculated by hand and that obtained from SAP are similar. So where am I going wrong?
