The latest news regarding status of the most advanced candidate malaria vaccine RTS,S is noted in a press release from GSK.

In summary, GSK submitted a regulatory application to the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in mid-2014 for RTS,S. This is regarded as the first step toward making the vaccine available. If a positive opinion by the EMA is given, then marketing applications may be sought in countries where the vaccine is intended for use. A WHO policy recommendation may follow in late 2015 if EMA opinion is favorable.
