Are the below definition and differentiation correct?
1/Scientific articles: Structurally they can be broken down into these three parts
-The introduction -The main body -The conclusion
2/Research papers: There are normally 8 sections in a research paper or scientific report
-Title -Abstract -Introduction -Methods and materials -Results -Discussion -Conclusion

From its title you can judge the main difference . One is just an article but with scientific topic , it may be part of a magazine or a journal, studying one topic or like and not taking in consideration the major benefits from its publication. Besides it can be done by a journalist or any one else because of its simple format ( like you said) . But the research paper has to be undertaken by qualified person following a special format introducing

In the context of academic journals, "paper" and "article"are loosely used to mean the same thing. They are both used to refer to articles published in journals.
Scientific articles can be of several types, such as original research article, review article, opinion or perspective pieces, etc. Each of these types follows a different structure. You cannot really use a generalised "introduction-body-conclusion" format for all article types.

Research papers, that is, original research articles, follow the IMRaD Structure, as you have correctly pointed out.
