Hi everybody,

I'm a beginner in the optic characterization of glass...

We manufactured a silicate glass doped with a different concentration of copper, the chemical compositions of our glass are SiO2, Na2O, CaO and CuO. The glass samples were irradiated with a different dose of Co-60 gamma rays. The attached figure shows a comparison between sample 1 (not doped) and the sample 3 doped with 0.19% of CuO.

The doped glass has been totally manufactured and not doped with one the Thin Layer techniques.

We are using Genesys 20 spectrophotometer (UV -Vis), with a step of (5 nm).

Anyone have an idea for the interpretation of the attached spectra, will be appreciate

regards,

Abdel-Hai
