What's definition of evolution which is equally application for life and ecosystem? Why is evolution urgent? What are the roles of time, environment, innovation in the evolution and perpetuity of life and living community structure and function? How emergence of and manipulation by man has influence both phenomena? Can you offer/anticipate some future directions?

Innovation is, nowadays, present in all our lives, being seen as a way of overcome economic stagnation, pushing the development of countries and increasing enterprises internationalization, performance and competitiveness. It is a fashionable term use by the media, entrepreneurs, research institutions, politicians and private citizens, exerting a constant pressure on companies to produce new innovations. Research funds and public money is increasingly directed to innovation, aiming to boost knowledge and internationalization capacities of enterprises and, consequently boost economic growth and employment.
Innovation has, for centuries, served the purpose of making the lives of human beings more comfortable. Throughout history, support, generate and implement innovations has been of utmost importance, not only for the well-being, but also for the survival of individuals, groups and even of civilizations and nations (Meissner & Kotsemir, 2016). During the past thirty years, innovation has been a synonym for the development of nations, technological progress and the engine of business success (Kotsemir et al., 2013). Innovation is not simply the creation of something new, but also a solution to a number of problems. The term "innovation" is increasingly used by policy makers, marketing specialists, experts in advertising and management consultants - not as a scientific concept of strict sense, but as a metaphor, political promise, slogan or a word of order (Kotsemir et al., 2013)."
As you can see innovation is "push" by society (society=ecosystem) that demands constant evolution, new products and technological development.
A future direction of innovation is, for example, clean energy and society (electric cars, new forms of producing energy,...).

Evolution, in the Darwinian sense, is the gradual genetic change that results from competition within a population. In other words, this struggle for existence between conspecifics result in adaptations that are passed on from one generation to another. Another important concept is the coevolutionary arms raise wherein members of different species (however, members of the same species may also engage in this type of behavior - also known as the Red Queen Hypothesis) outcompete each other by constantly evolving and adapting to the ever-changing environment. Thus, evolution is important since organisms must constantly evolve for the proliferation of their species.
Overtime, pronounced changes in the environment may result in the evolution, or even extinction, of organisms. These changes are usually caused by human activity and technological innovations which interfere with the natural processes in the ecosystem. Some examples include the illegal wildlife trade, urbanization on forests, and dumping toxic wastes in bodies of water.
As mentioned by Mr. Carvalho, given the technology we have today, innovations can be used to manufacture more eco-friendly products in order to reduce the carbon footprint we humans have on earth. In addition to that, innovations can be used in biomedical research in order to control pathogenic and hereditary diseases (Berkeley University). Given this information, innovation can be beneficial both to humans and the ecosystem if it is used in the right way.
