Zinc works synergistically with protein for growth in long bone. A high calcium intake can limit consumption of zinc rich foods, and the calcium can bind with the zinc in food to create an insoluble complex. Zinc rich foods include fish, seafood, meat and eggs. These should ideally be consumed away from dairy or high fibre foods to maximize absorption of the zinc. Short term zinc supplementation of 1 mg zinc/kg body weight has been shown to increase growth velocity in a variety of pediatric populations for whom height may be suboptimal.

Adequate amount of carbohydrate, protein, fat and micro nutrients keep the child healthy. At the same time remember that sufficient calories from carbohydrate help in protein sparing action - protein will be spared for the function of growth, development, wear and tear and not for deriving energy in the absence of carbohydrate. Of course genetic factors also count growth. Out door games along with balanced diet will help to boost height to certain level.
Ya right. I am also of the opinion that the child should take proteinious foods and should play outdoor games whole heatedly. He should be extrovert and take plenty of water. Apart from the diet if the parent have any doubt about the height then they may try the yoga Tadasan. Pl measure the height and this yoga in morning and evening. See the difference in height and do intemate the result to me also. I will be

The boy is still very young and he will grow in height about 12-13 years of age. However, he should participate in sports activities and pay attention to his food which should contain adequate amounts of energy, protein, minerals and vitamins. You know vitamins are regarded as 'Sparks of life'. The diet must be balanced. Plenty of fruits and vegetables are important. Stick to the rule 'five-a-day'. No need to complicate things.
