What would be the threshold criteria, one need to use for assessing the spike rate in hippocampal slice electrophysiology?

Dear Researchers,

We are working on hippocampal slice electrophysiology using MEAs' from multichannel systems, Germany.

We are testing spike potentiating agents, like carbachol in CA1 region of hippocampus.

We wish to know, what would be the criteria to set the spike threshold to assess the spike rate.

Please help us by sharing your experience in this regard.
