I have designed a scale where resposndents have to choose the most preferred response and the least preferred response. Most preferred response will be given 2 weightage while least preferred response shall be given 0 weightage, so this clarifies the middle response with the weightage of 1.
Hence, the used scale offers three weightage 0, 1, 2. Seeking your guidance, and are there any possibilities of evaluating this on SPSS?
This scale is same as one can see used in 16 PF inventory or Human Value Scale created by Sherry and Verma.
Are there sub-scales intended, or do all of the ordinal items measure one construct? Depending on the answer to this, a first step would be to treat the sub-scales, or total score in a summative fashion, then, with SPSS you can calculate a coefficient alpha for respective scale(s) to assess reliability.
