We all realize how we damage the planet (air, water, soil) by burning fossil fuels to travel or go to work. With little or no travel, the air temperature will go back down a bit, but the sea temperature (that gives us the severe weather effects ) will take a long time to cool off.

A change of behaviour in consumerism that will definitely reduce the production activity needs to be maintained post-pandemic. The negative impacts of COVID-19 on economy and production and a positive impact of it on the ecosystem shows a clear negative correlation between the two. This is an opportunity for the round of UNFCCC meeting in UK this year in November to develop a strong agenda for the state to take active steps for achieving 'sustainable development' goals. States can not achieve Sustainable development goals without putting limits on their 'self-interest' and infinite desire for growth.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak's impact on travel and industry, many regions and the planet as a whole experienced a drop in air pollution. Reducing air pollution can reduce both climate change and COVID-19 risks but it is not yet clear which types of air pollution (if any) are common risks to both climate change and COVID-19.

A lot of climate has changed due to this pandemic, for example emission of gases has fallen just because of less vehicles and Industrial usage. But it will not remain for so long. As the Carbon brief analysis in early April, it has fallen 5.5 perecent from 2019 levels. But it will surely bounced back when the economy will be recovered.

yes, it has reduced air pollution and also reduced golbal warming (i.e cox, nox +vapours). But some air pollutants just like sulfates emission from cargoes are react with water vapours for the cloud formation and ultimately cause for global cooling effect. These sulfate particles when react with air in space, cause to cloud formation and block upto two watts of solar energy.

I think that it will have an effect depending on the way back to normality. If the economy want to recover the levels of productions it will have a negative impact but if there is a lower level of production and use of energy as well as socially more responsible consumption will be positive for Climate Change.

From my experience so far:

I think in manufacturing - we still need people to build and make things. Industry 4.0, interconnectivity and robots have always been on the horizon to lean out manufacturing but in the short term I believe it will return to pre-covid-19. However, there will be alot less meetings in person. Alot of social distancing that there wasnt previously and alot more use of technology specially for training. In ther short term there will be less of an impact on the environment because in most industry production is down, but longer term, I would expect it to return to previous production levels and have a similar impact environmentally.

My friend works in finance for a large international bank and the word there is there will be alot more working from home. So less travelling in cars, etc. Which could reduce vehicle emissions in towns and cities.

COVID 19 is a global challenge. It has resulted impacts on the environment as well as the climate, with a drop in air pollution due to reduction in green house gas emissions. However, the GHGs emission events experienced in the past did not affect the overall climate crisis. Therefore, it can be assumed that COVID 19 outbreak is geographically immune to climate change as well as ecology.
