I have designed a circular polarized antenna. But , I am confused with cor-ordinate system. In some angel it shows less than 2 dB axial ratio and some other point it shows more than 10 dB like a linear polarized antenna.
After observing radiation pattern, I think Axial ratio will be calculated at theta zero and phi 90 degree
phi 90 deg for all values of theta will give you idea about axial ratio in all directions in horizontal plane(where you get circular pattern). For theta 0 deg and 90 deg and for all values of phi you will get to know the axial ratio in two vertical planes (where you get figure of eight pattern)
Nitin Kumar are you sure? see..antenna is not radiating at Theta 90. Then why I should be concern about AR on that direction ?
Yes I am sure, the condition you are asking about is when phi is also zero, but when u keep phi 90; theta can have all values with radiation in circular pattern
You correct Dr Jugul Kishor , in this case it is an omni pattern, so all values of theta
Most of the gain is located in YZ plane. It is omni directional pattern in YZ plane.
keep phi= 90 and calculate AR for different values of theta (like theta = 0, 90, 180, 270)
