We are having trouble with the injector clogging using our extracted plasma and tissue samples so need to add a filtration step in our method. We are thinking of filtering the sample after dry down and reconstitution, prior to injecting into the LC-MS. We only reconstitute in 250 ul
It is not very clear from your question, what method you are using currently for extraction.
If you are interested in filters, then look for syringe filters. Its available in various pore sizes. It might be expensive if you sample size is large.
I suggest, cetrifuging the samples after reconstitution and aliquoting 100 microliters for injection.

I belive you are using protein preciptiation extraction or liquid-liquid extraction.I hadn't tried with diclofenac before, but for many types of drugs PVDF 25 microns filter work well. You could try this type of filter and test your method recovery and make sure this filter doesn't interfere in your analysis.

Centrifugation of the reconstituted sample and fine tuning of the injector needle height to prevent debris pick up can sometimes help. The use of filtration can, on occasion, cause analyte loss when measuring low concentrations. Cheers Mike
