I am performing NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) analysis on rock cores. I need to seal the cores to prevent fluid penetration. However, i do not want any hydrogen signal from my seal. I have seen from literature that epoxy resin was used for this purpose but the type has not been specified. Please are there Epoxy resins with zero hydrogen signal? rather what type of Epoxy resin is best suited for this purpose, i mean the one without Hydrogen.

I'm not familiar with this type of measurements. Are you sure you need sealant? you could also probably find air-tight cap (removing the sealant after measurement will be a problem!). Also, as long as your sealant is not in the NMR field, it will not contribute to the signal, so no need to have a H-free sealant
I doubt, if there is any 1H-free resin. All hydrogen atoms should be replaced by deutrium atoms. That is posssible, but costly. I suggest to seal the glass tube with a teflon cap or using a blowtorch. The blowtorch is more reliable.
Juliette Blanchard thanks for your answer, you are so right its not easy to get a H-free sealant. However core sample sealed with the impermeable seal having H signal and saturated with hydrogen containing fluid will have NMR signal of both the core and and the seal. What i needed to do was signal separation, knowing the NMR signal of the seal before the core sample was saturated.
