In my research I am investigating the relationship between HEXACO personality Inventory 60-item and Organizational Citizenship Behaviour Motives Scale 10-item. I ran shapiro.test to check for normality and almost all variables were not normally distributed.
My first question: what correlation type is better to use?
Second, how to create a correlation matrix in Excel for the six traits (Honesty-Humility, Emotionality, Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness & Opennes to experience), and the OCB motives (impression management, organizational concern and prosocial values)?

Hi,
use PSPP as statistical program (free software, similar to spss. In PSPP use spearman correlation or pearson (depending from data, look at normality plots). Then export the matrix to excel.

You can use person correlation. Normality is not a problem it is just needed for the level of significance...You can also compute multiple correlation using your 6 hexako variables as predictors and each of the 3 OCB motives as criteriom.....

I also have other questions:
In my questionnaire I used age range as a demographic variable, i.e 18-23, 24-29 etc. To get the mean age, do I have first to get the average for each age range?
