I am writing a paper to submit to a journal and I discovered that a previous relevant work (which I will be citing and that was published on the same journal) has some small mathematical mistakes in images and formulas. Should I address this issue in my paper or should I give reference to the formulas without acknowledging the fact that a couple of signs are wrong?
I plan to put a correct version of the image in my paper since it is useful in the argumentation.
So what I should do? should I give reference to the mistaken image without explanation of where it is mistaken? Or should I give evidence of why the mistaken image is wrong?
What I must do?
