Hello,

My model consists of two parts, where an inner geometry made of C3D8 solid elements is embedded inside an outer cube which is also meshed with solid elements. The constraint given is "Embedded" elements.

Both materials are elastic-isotropic, however, the material for the inner geometry has a young's modulus of 112e3 GPa, whereas the outer cube (basically rubber) has E = 4 MPa.

I am running a displacement-controlled Abq Standard analysis, with NLGEOM on.

The model is at least 3 mm in length and width, however the max displacement I am getting is less than 0.2 mm after which it fails to converge.

I tried to mesh the outer cube with C3D8R along with Enhanced Hourglass option turned ON. Still facing convergence issue and getting hourglassing.

Any ideas on how I can improve my model? Thank you!
