Which test is appropriate to compare if the sample size between my groups has significant differences?
I have 4 patient groups
group 1: 79 patients
group 2: 99 patients
group 3: 65 patients
group 4: 69 patients
I think the answer may be obvious but its evading me right now :')
My question is I want to know if there is significant differance between the group sizes, before I go ahead and do comparisons. As I want to make sure first that any further conclusions are not because group 2 is scewing my results.

If you want to consider sample size in comparison, that is not the case, if want to compare groups, I suggest to to make easier, make 4 replicates of 20 patients each, then analize as RCBD . Regards.
I assume your outcome variable is measured on a continuous (and not a discrete) scale.
One way perhaps would be to perform levene's test for checking the equality of variances of the samples, a simple description is provided here:

Else, if the data is normal for each of the four groups (you may assess this using Shapiro Wilk's test), that is perhaps a good indicator that the sample size is adequate for each respective group.
