There are both biotic and abiotic stresses affecting legumes.
Biotic stresses are pests and diseases caused by living my organisms such as bacteria, fungi, nematodes and viruses.
Abiotic stresses are those that are non-living and may include soil pH, soil fertility, salinity, nutrition, light wavelength, water etc. Normally, for most abiotic stresses, they must be at an optimal range for crop growth.
All the stresses are depended on the agro-ecological zone where the legume is grown.
