Well, I think there's no right answer to that. It somehow depends on how well you're selling the project to participants (what would they got on return for participating?) and what you're asking them to do (is it a longitudinal study? is there an intervention?).

We've also recruited a sample with some of the characteristics you're describing, and it wasn't easy either. Healthy young adults are not that keen to enrol in any study, particularly if asked for follow-up visits or engage in a treatment plan.

We definitely did not as much as you've done for recruitment... so I think you've all of the potential recruitment's channels (very well!) covered. What kind of challenges are you experiencing?

Thank you Jonatan for responding! We are performing a 4-week exercise intervention study. The intervention includes 4-weeks of post-meal walking and traditional exercise. We do perform 24-hour glucose monitoring pre-intervention and during the final week of exercise intervention. However, we've just been struggling to get participants interested. We do offer $100 as incentive to participate for completion, as well as providing them their data/coaching for additional lifestyle modifications post-exercise intervention.

You've definitely done way more than we did in our study. I think it's hard to convince people to exercise, especially if they're not under the impression they need to do so (because they're not sick... yet). Perhaps, now that the winter is almost over good weather will call people to participate!
