Recently, I have noticed a greater delay in the peer review process in journals in general (Elsevier, Wiley, Taylor and Francis, SAGE...). Among others, two factors contribute to this: i) the increased number of articles submitted and ii) the lack of reviewers, mainly in top journals. What strategies could be developed in this second case to encourage researchers to review articles seriously and promptly?
