The class or flipped backward class requires skills and experience of teachers in the use of Web 2.0. The generation of content requires the teacher to create a virtual space for the student with information that you can review, share and reach an initial learning achieved basically collaboratively.
I've seen Blogger, Yammer and PBWorks used for this approach to learning & teaching. All apps provide the option to post online content which is protected from public access but also allow for collaborative creation and controlled access.

I screen-cast my feedback. It allows me to connect with the student by giving encouragement and at times arguing a point without having the student misinterpret my email as negative rather than supportive. They hear my voice and see me. In addition, I have the students screen-cast any presentations so that the class can connect with a face and a voice rather than just a name on a discussion board. I also use journals as a way to gauge learning. These are private, between the student and professor, and require the student to tell me what they know or think they know about the subject. As we progress through the class they journal what they learned and how it differed from their initial impression of the subject. At the end of the course I have then reflect on what they learned.

Whilst I agree that teachers need some level of skill regarding Web 2.0, there are a number of reasonably priced software which will do much of the content management for you. The bigger issue is to make sure the content is educationally appropriate and supports the group work, individual work you wish to do when the students are in your direct presence. Cheers, Kevin.
1. Make sure that flipped learning is the primary instructional methodology of the class, not simply an additional or optional activity in a conventional classroom structure.
2. Provide resources for acquisition of knowledge outside the classroom. This usually includes videos created by the teachers.
3. Hold the students responsible for the outside learning, such as writing summaries, responses, taking quizzes or other things to show that they invested the time required. I heard on teacher say that if the students cannot pass the quiz, they should be sent away to study until they can pass, rather than be allowed to stay in class.
4. Do NOT repeat the knowledge content in the classroom. Rather, use activities that apply the knowledge acquired outside of class.

I use camtasia to record my lectures and have experimented with powerpoint and iMovie as well. Generally, however, I use the online learning management system (Canvas in my case) to post videos, readings, and assignments that my students complete prior to coming to class. In class, I guide students through role-play, simulations, debates, games, and problem-solving groupwork to make the learning experience more engaging. Good luck to you!
