It’s good that a researcher's publications could be read by as many readers as possible. But it is just as well that the other languages with a great tradition of expression of scientific experience find their full place in publications with international claims.
I have seen some journals publishing papers in several languages in order to get more readers.
I think it's too late. But what's wrong with it? It's good to have a consistent language and English really is a combined language of many sources. These days it's easy to translate anyway. It's not up to anyone to prevent it btw, which actually annoyed me you saying that :(
As we live in a hyper-connected world, then a lingua Franca is highly needed. English has become the language of everything.
Yes. That is a consequence of globalization which promotes English as THE language of science, technology, technique... of everything. This is what we can today call the "globish". It is from the globalization.
