Coating is used for different purposes.
When one face of beam splitter is coated with silver . Reflection of light guided by silver coating will face a pi phase differene or not ? Does this depend on the thickness of silver coating ? I want details of what happens due to coating. I have no knowledge on this.

you are right - on metallic surfaces the phase jump is pi. But the intensity of the reflected light is then not erased. Of course, you have a knot at the surface. The intensity can be erased, if the thickness of the surface layer corresponds to the half wavelength in the surface layer. Then this wavelength is erased by interference. This is used for photoobjectives or interference filter.

When light reflects from a medium having an index of refraction greater than that of the medium in which it is traveling, a 180º phase change occurs.
Basically, thin film interference depends on film thickness, the wavelength of the incident light, and the refractive indices.
