I have seen some papers reporting the Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) results in log scale while some in linear scale. This confuses me. Is there any scientific specification/reason for the type of scale (log or linear) when E' vs Temp is reported?

Both ways are acceptable. When E' is plotted on a log scale differences in rubbery modulus are more apparent - on the other hand if one is interested in understanding the glassy behavior and how it changes with temperature as Tg is approached then the linear scale is recommended.
Thank you for the answer Dr. Palmese! So, it is just a matter of representation. In one of my presentation, I used linear scale for E' vs temp because - as you said - rubbery plateau was more apparent, and was told that E' should ALWAYS be log scale. That confused me. So I just wanted to ask here to make sure linear scale is also correct. Thank you!
