I am currently trying to characterize the interactions of different Ionomers used for catalyst inks in different membrane-based electrochemical systems. To study the effect of different solvents on Ionomer interactions I have done some experiments with a rheometer using a flat plate geometry. So far I only used experiments where the shear-rate is sweeped and I compare the dynamic viscosities measured in different solvents, which give some information on the degree of ionomer interactions. What other experiment using my rheometer could be helpful to get more insights on the ionomer interactions ?

I might further want to study not only the ionomer, but the catalyst ink, which consists of ionomer + catalyst in a solvent. What experiments might be helpful to study interactions of those colloidal systems ? The concentration range of those inks are relatively low, between 0.1 and 0.3 wt% total solids in the dispersion.

I am very thankful for any advice!
