You can detect and calculate the nano particles (crystallite size) of any material by 1- Applying the Sherrer equation to the obtained XRD data. 2- Using Transmission electron microscope, TEM. The mentioned techniques confirm the obtained data of each other.
Note that: The Scanning Electron microscope is used to calculate the grain size not the crystallite or particle size and there is a difference between the the crystallite or particle size and grain size.
