Good day! I am researching certain plant and wanted to know its anticoagulant properties. I am planning to get its crude extract by macerating with 80% methanol for 3 days.
in the optimized and well performed evaporation using rotary vaccume evaporator you could reach the maximum elimination of methanol (as the solvent) which does not make any significant trouble in your experiments; so the first and the best approach is to focus on the equipment;
others are optional but they are more theoritical, not experimental including:
1. using incubator (as you have mentioned)
2. using hot plate under refulx condition to eliminate high portion of MeOH (notice could decompose youre extract) or water bath
3. using absorbants (e.g molecular sieves in some examples)
4. changing solvent ratio to increase the polarity (slightly)
