I am conducting school based research on School climate. The research includes 9 schools (out of a possible 10) with between 300 and 830 students. Each school will be examined independently as case studies, and then I will combine the data to draw general inferences for this town.
I have been aiming to obtain data from 40% of each school population but in some schools this is proving difficult.
Could an expert (in statistics, psychometrics or quantitative methods, for example) please advise me what % of each school population I actually need in order to be able to assume that my results are a reliable reflection of the whole school population.
Many thanks in advance.
