Unfortunately, my computer is unable to run estimateS software due to technical problem. Is there any other user friendly softwares that I can use to estimate species richness?
Hello! I have never used etsimateS, but on the official webpage it references Anne Chao's work. I use iNext for creating alpha rare faction curves, maybe you can look into it too?
If you want further tips, please let us know what kind of data you want to process. Is it 18S or 16S sequencing data, or did you try to observe diversity by by going in the field and counting phenotypes?
I would recommend the statistical software R, it is user-friendly, simple, and have a really helpful online-community. There are also almost unlimited amounts of packages that suits all types of applications, functions and models.
Dear Florian Prodinger thank you for your suggestion, i am currently trying to test my data by using iNEXT online and SpadeR online, and the collected data is abundance data and incidence based data. I would like to estimate true species richness of my study site and to compare between which these two types of data will best estimate true species richness of reptiles in my study area.
