I was wondering what tools you are using in this period of covid-19 crisis. What problem you encountered and what are your opinion about that tools, let share our experiences.
I am teaching secondary school, I am using Zoom, Webex, Google Meet my problem is how I can management students use zoom, we can't force them to open video or camera because of they at home, technology teach student rude and not respect the teacher. the benefit is we safety save time and money but how about emotional management? human being? moral value?
I've used Blackboard Collaborate and Zoom as videoconferencing tools and Blackboard as the primary LMS for hosting material. Zoom exceeds the capabilities of Collaborate because of the elegant user interface and the ease of sharing files.
Google Classroom is another platform used for teaching. It is simple and you can use it for asynchronous learning.
Jesús, Google Classroom is phenomenal! One thing I noticed, though, is that it allows for tremendous creativity, which can be overwhelming for new instructors to the platform and it can also be difficult for parents if multiple instructors use that creativity to set the classroom up differently. Have you noticed that?
Telegram is an excellent tools for feedback fast to the student. It also has the possibility of creating interactive quizzes.
the current pandemic situation that is happening all over the world, is suffering by many people, all life activities are almost paralyzed, with education, aspect, various ways to carry out the teaching process through online media are done to replace the classroom meeting, but must be met with the parameters of success will not be the same. I am trying to deliver a module (galley & cabin skill course for services aspect) using company-managed e learning to link teaching materials (slides), face-to-face collaboration via microsoft teams with 16 participants (classroom method are 24 participants) , e learning is given to each participant with each different enrollment code, e learning materials can only be accessed 3 days before the conference call time, so during the conference call we only discussing what is not understood by the participants, and not discussing slide by slide, well we don‘t need for a long time for the conference call, also we more effective and efficient in a time & cost, when pandemic is over, I will do a classroom meeting and begin with a pretest regarding module from e learning before the practical test in roleplay mockup... because objective and purpose of this course about participant confident also competences in skill and behavior of service...//this is my sharing, cheers ;))
I also use ZOOM for video conferencing.
Students save their assignments in cloud documents (One drive).
I’m available every day to talk between 8 and 11 a.m. on Skype or Hangouts.
Otherwise, ... the work is much more difficult than live teaching in classroom. I really hope we get back to school soon!
