I want to collect data from facebook group, data about users (when they are become member of group), interaction between members (comments and likes) etc. Question is what is best way to collect data from facebook. I did find that some tools, as facebook changed some privacy policy, don t work any more. I do have access to facebook group that s in focus of my research, thx
I recommend to first address your question to Facebook. Facebook usually supports researchers who need its data because it can as well profit from your research.

Api that facebook offer dont offer data that I looking for. What I find that is something like scraping tool. One such way of mining personal data is to scrape social media sites, such as Facebook. Scraping users' profile pages can give basic information about them, who they're friends with, and what photos they've posted. Facebook group is group of our faculty students, we will ask group admins for collecting data it will not be some illegal action.
Goran Skondric, I assume the API that you mentioned is the official Facebook Graph API (usage examples: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/using-graph-api) and that is not sufficient for the type of data you are looking for.

I am not sure about the groups but looks like these tools might be able to extract some analytics from the groups, at least if you have admin access in the group.
I collected data from a closed Facebook group by posting a survey. One of the risk of collecting data from Facebook is lack of trustworthiness. Collecting data from closed group can reduce the risk as in a closed participants' identify is already verified and posts come through approval. That is why, data coming through this is comparatively trustworthy.
I believe that all currently available tools for collecting data from Facebook groups can be classified into two types.
The first one includes many scraping programs available such as Facebook Scraper, Apify, Octoparse, Mozenda, Scrapy, etc. I do not recommend using a free scraper because they are often limiting and of poor quality. It is much better to deal with full-fledged scrapers’ versions to get high-quality results.
As an alternative to software scrapers, you may use API-based options that give you some advantages.
