I see very few wheelchairs designed with lumbar support. Even when requesting one be installed or installed in a support garment, it is always met with confusion and questions as to why. I see little publication on the development of secondary curves in low functioning CP children. This may be an area I develop research into...thoughts?

There is a global configuration in those CP'quadriplegias, but there a also exceptions, with more paralysis, more extensor spasme as flexor spame. You can detect the rare form of a spastic hyper lordose devellopment by care ful clinical examination, rate all muscle groups as paralytic, normal or spastic.
precise support in their wheelchair will help them to stay allday in the chair, but it does not stop progression of contractures as scoliosis and kyfose or hyperlordosis.
Whole spine- Pelvic fusion is the only possibillity
