As with any career, what/who motivated you to be a researcher? Do you feel that ‘you chose research’ or perhaps ‘research chose you’?
I consider myself a philosophical thinker and love new knowledge creation. I enjoy questioning, finding new facts and making new discoveries. Whats your motivation?
I became a researcher mainly because of two reasons. First, to know more about the countless unknowns that still exist in my area of expertise, psychology in general and developmental psychology in particular. Second, to use my psychological knowledge to foster children's prosocial behaviors such as helping, sharing, donating and comforting, and deal effectively with their antisocial behaviors, such as aggression and bullying.
In both cases, I have used a constructionist approach in general and a Piagetian framework in particular.
