it is clear that scholars from the engineering disciplines will receive far less exposure for their publications than those in liberal arts such as Mathematics, Psychology, Chemistry, Biology. The question is what metrics should be used to normalize the exposure discrepancy? For example if a math scholar publishes one paper he/she may receive 3000 citation while the best engineering scholar may get 100 citation for a paper of similar quality. What metrics can be used to normalize the two numbers?
