Bone-derived hydroxyapatite can be sintered at 1200-1400 ºC without any additives. Variable amounts of a-TCP, B-TCP and CaO may be formed during that process. The time required to sinter the mineral depends of the particle size and also of the initial chemical composition of your samples.
When you mention the use of a lubricant, is it to extract the sintered sample from the mold? If you will use an organic oil, (a polymer), for example, the problem is that the high temperature required for sintering the mineral will degrade it, and contaminate the hydroxyapatite sample.
