Jawed Sahib it is my area of interest also and i wish i could work effectively in it. In my view point media practitioners are misusing and misinterpreting the word "freedom" in third world countries. Freedom always comes with responsibility which is never seen.
Freedom of expression is one of the most precious rights. Many developing nations struggling for democracy, and good governance, do not support freedom of the press and the media in these countries is often restricted or controlled by government censorship. but case in Pakistan is totally different here media is a blackmailing force and they are enjoying an unlimited freedom.
Jawed sahib in my view the media practitioners are enjoining freedom of expression in the third world countries from low level to high because the audience and journalists of the said media don't know the limitations of the term of freedom of expression.
in my view the freedom of expression mean to care about the others social, cultural, religious etc limitation that you wouldn't violate in any sense.
It varies country to country, in India the level of media freedom is different from that in Pakistan or Bangladesh. Can you specify what you mean by developing countries? Is it about a particular set of countries or in general?
Yes Henna, there are some obvious differences between the different developing countries. IN some countries like Pakistan and India the media has a fair degree of freedom while in other countries like Iran and Bangladesh, this is not the case.
