TV hosts are somehow the opinion leaders of a society. They should play a responsible role towards the society. They should be loyal, sincere and trustworthy. If we take examples of Pakistani TV hosts then unfortunately they are misusing the power of the words. They are on the TV screens without training, without qualification and without any true sense of hosting a TV show. even they do not have grip on the language they use either English or Urdu.

Majority are on the wrong track as they instead of being moderators, have become debators and judges.
I agree with Sahifa, Anam and Henna. They are on wrong track. But the question is still there. What is the role of hosts in other countries. A comparison study may be designed.
To be the moderator is the role of a host basically. In ur show when u r having ppl from different school of thoughts, it will be ur duty to keep them away from sever clashes ..............but our hosts try their level best to bring the guests to the point when the guests just get out of control and a war like situation emerges.
Totally true. The hosts, be they the anchors of news talk shows or the hosts of the morning shows are focused on what they consider to be entertaining although the hullabaloo that they end up creating is far from entertaining.
They should be like moderators not dictators because they have huge reponsibility of linking thoughts and opinions. Their prime role should be to highlight social problems affecting common man instead of having wedding functions on shows.
Yes Ayesha but all the money that they get paid has gone to their heads and they dont worry about ethics or their actual role. Reporters should be made anchors, in order to make anchors understand what real moderators tend to do. What do you say?
the ideal role and function of the TV hosts is not in practice by the TV hosts at majority. they just try to glamorize the show and the dress patterns of the female are not up to the mark. the communication is not just through the spoken words, the audience take an effect of their dress patterns and costume also. on the other hand the current affair program hosts do not try to play a role of a host but instead most of them play the role of a juggler, where the representatives of various political parties quarrel and they just sit as idol.
