Am doing my research on three water supply reservoirs concerning impact of urbanization on water quality of these reservoirs. I want to use modeling.would you please suggest me what kind of modeling shall use?
The model that to adopt is based upon the analysis and the study. For example it the study if for the heavy metal removal from water sample then langmuir and freundlich isotherm models can be used.
Basically I am also agree with Vishwanath Sharma Manoharmayum. Firstly, you can select some quality parameter in respects of you searching some model but it is very important what you do want? Thank you.
You can make measurements of some of the most critical species (ions or precipitates) for each reservoir as a function of time. Then you can try to relate that to various factors such as usage rate, time of the day, any parameters associated with the filtration and purification process, time of the year, incidences of rainfall and storms, etc. You need to make clear what your objectives are before you get a concrete answer from your colleagues.
Mechanistic model, empirical model, deterministic model and stochastic model can be used for water quality modeling.
If I need to develop water quality model in reservoir and lakes, than physical, biological, chemical and lake models can be made.
Models of water quality in ground water , simulation of groundwater flow model and simulation of contaminant transport can be made using steady state flow model and transport by advection, transport by dispersion etc.
Models of water quality in runoff, considering by surface runoff model and erosion and sediment delivery model can be used.
for water pollution quality model, VODA ia generally used.
