Hello, all! I need to apply a drug solution to the rat brain. And I must be aware of whether the drug can diffusion to my target positions, so I need a way to show and measure the diffusion of the solution. I wonder is there any simple way to accomplish this?

@Béatrice Marianne Ewalds-Kvist . Thank u dear for kindly suggestion. The paper discribes a rather precise way to measure the concentration of Lacosamide in brain based on UV absorbance. It's useful but a little too compex for my experiment. Actually I don't need such precise measurement. Or even if some indicator with special color which can show the diffusion is enough.

Are you performing something like stereotaxic injection? Is it intraventricular or are you targeting some other, more specific brain region(s)? Short of having definitive analytical methods to track your agent in brain slices or tissue homogenates of target regions, e.g. radiolabeled drug, your options are somewhat limited. If you are simply looking for some indicator that you are more or less in the correct area of the brain, we used to use india ink injected into the site after our microdialysis experiments were complete and that would show up on frozen brain slices. Granted this doesn't truly confirm that your drug made it to the desired target, but it's one way to show you were in the area you hoped to be.
